In 2019, Stellenbosch University (SU) embarked on a journey to revolutionise academic delivery through the expansion of its hybrid learning (HL) mode of delivery. This innovative approach combines sustained periods of fully online learning with fewer/shorter, yet highly engaging and interactive periods (‘calendar blocks’) of on-campus (face-to-face) contact sessions, offering flexibility while catering to the unique needs of South African and African learners.
